I suddenly noticed that it is almost the end of the month for August and I haven’t put any post in my own blog and I am really ashamed because I was able to write something on my other websites and for other people but not on my own baby. Well, I know most of the people I know can relate to this, most especially those who are also into writing. I believe no one can say that boredom does not affect the way one writes or a time didn’t came when ideas are hard to come by like fish in a stormy night in the sea.

Just speaking on experience alone, when I started, I am really eager to write anything under the sun, ideas kept on arising in my mind hour after hour and I couldn’t hold off myself from writing what interests me. You can see for yourself what I am talking about in my archives.

But all of the enthusiasm is starting to wear off. Several factors affect it. Time contributes to more than 80% of lost opportunities. I have a day job that eats up almost all of my time. I said to myself before that I can multitask and balance my office work with my online rackets, but I learned that it is easier said than done.

I don’t intend writing to be my bread and butter, but the promise of earning huge amount of money cannot just be ignored. I’ll admit that I became envious of the stories from my friend, who is earning handsomely online through several Internet Marketing techniques and it pushed me in starting my own online portfolio. I started in planning and developing new websites and blogs and putting quality contents, applying to several affiliate programs that promises earning online to be a breeze. I also utilized what I learned in SEO or Search Engine Optimization, and apply these techniques to market my websites. Because if not for these tactics; I know that my sites will just be some needles in the haystack and visitors will be nil to none.

I admit that the road to success is really hard. Time should be managed and one must be truly determined in following methods and not be afraid in making mistakes because if you will not try anything, then there is no room for you in the online business. Well, this also applies in other aspects in life and not online in making money online. I do hope that ideas will run again like wild horses in my mind to continue flooding my websites with fresh ideas even if it were just merely life experiences…because admit it or not, it is much more great reading something that is real and experienced than something that are merely copied from someone and does not provide any connections in your own life.

Too many websites offer information on how to make money online. These sites will only discuss on how to optimize your website and teach how to generate traffic. If you really intended to make money in your website and you signed up with affiliate programs, then your first goal is to do On Page Optimization to setup your site appealing to both the visitors and the search engines. You need to have organic traffic, meaning when someone searches something that they want to know or buy, people will type that in the search engine and results will appear with a listing of websites that is relevant to the keyword or keywords.

Targeted advertising is the best form of making money online. Keyword optimization also needed to be maintained in one’s site. Balancing between content and keywords is an important task in SEO. Stuffing the content with keywords will do more harm than good. Search engines do not like to index a page that has a high keyword density compared to the entire content and is not completely related to each other. Do your homework first. Be sure to research for keywords that are mostly searched and create unique content that encompasses a small number of keywords. You can also include long tail keywords and use synonyms to replace duplicate keywords.

Optimizing your Internal and External Links is a big yes. Your internal links must be descriptive enough to promote the keywords. The anchor text should be related to other internal pages. Make sure that there is no broken link in your website and will still connect to your homepage no matter how deep the pages are.

Images and videos are not well read by search engines so make sure that you put description on it. The Alt Text is used to put description on the image and shows up when you hover your mouse over a picture. Put relevant keywords. As for the filename of the images, please put a real filename that is understandable like “my-first-phone.jpg“ and not just a bunch of letters and numbers like DSC1583.jpg. Put also pertinent image title just like the description. It is also best to put the image keywords whenever you put a link to the image, instead of just putting “click here”.

All of these factors are nonsense if you do not have a good and unique content to implement with. As everyone well knows, content is king, and fresh content is like a good king making his daily responsibilities to his sovereignty. No one wants a king who just sits on his throne everyday and not doing anything productively. So make sure that you create new content, as search engines love it. It is not a prerequisite to daily add something, but at least once in while will do and not be dormant for a couple of weeks or months.

It is a good habit to write naturally as what you would like people to read it and not just pleasing the search engines, because if the content or the template of the website is unreadable, then you will lose visitors, and traffic is one of the criteria of search engines to see if your site is worth its page rank. Traffic is also one gauge for affiliate programs or companies to see if they can invest in your site for advertisements, because no one wants to show ads on a website that the owner is the only one that is viewing it.
